Job Title:  TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR (Langley, BC)

Position Summary:

Mercury Marine Canada is hiring a Technical Instructor to teach product-related courses for customers on-site, on-line and at customers’ sites.  The individual must be able to work in a team environment to develop training sequences for the entire product line and initiate training for new program development.  The position is for a Full Time Permanent Position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform duties as an instructor/facilitator to teach product-related classes in-house, via internet and at customer sites
• Develop classroom course schedule for each training season
• Work with the curriculum team to revise and/or coordinate the revision of developed training and instructional programs/systems. Upgrade course materials to reflect product enhancements, design training sequences for the entire product line.
• Work with the curriculum team to develop course materials and laboratory exercises for new classes, prepare customized training for technical courses
• Coordinate the production and delivery of contract deliverables.
• Interface with Graphic Arts, Engineering, and other departments.
• Technical training representative in customer meetings, provides presentations, technical expertise, provide technical guidance and assistance to others.
• Oversee the training centre day-to-day operation
• Track and maintain inventory at the training centre
• Update product, classrooms, running labs as curriculum requirements demand.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Education and Experience

• Comfortable with distance teaching technologies like MS Teams, WebEX, etc.
• Education in related field plus five years directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in training or related fields; supervisory or task/project leader experience preferred. State-of-the-art in instructional technology. Understanding of current engineering practices.
• International travel is required.
